After doing some research I would say that I am for web personalisation.A large part of this was due to this article I found. It explains how the web is an explosive gworth of information which led me to the notion that pretty soon it can become a lot to take in. It then goes on to state that web personilation is designed to cater this information for the needs of the user. Which I can only see as a good thing.

I am not an idiot however and am very well aware of how this information can be exploited.Take facebook or bebo for example. If a person isn’t aware to make profiles visible only to friends, then people will be able to view very personal information freely, or even if you have; you can still be hacked with a simple Keylog or trojan, It can be viewed by anyone. This of course isn’t particularly related to e-commerce directly but with the amount of facebook adverts, it would be possible for this information to be abused by advertisers.

In closing I would again say that I believe it is a good thing, and necessary for progression. But the option to remain anomymous must be present. As long as the choice is there, then I  believe it is fine.

I used the same key words on google Insights search to gauge the interest level and the results were as shown below:

We can see the the interes level over the last few years has been steadily declining over the years, however I believe the numbers have smoothes out enough over the last 3 years to suggest that an adword campaign is definately possible. I will now show you the adword results I got when I used google ADWORDS keyword tool and compare them to the ones I decided to try.

We can see here that most of the keywords that were successful were words describing specific products which I think would be extremely useful in an adword campaign because customers looking for computer parts or accessories would generally be pretty acute in the knowledge of that they want anyway.

It is a model for the sharing of resources using the internet for accessing similar data or using shared services. This ultimately will save on hardware costs by reducing the amount of servers required for computers to perform similar tasks.

To allow for this an infastructure would have to be created as services would have to be reliable, thus data centres were created Air conditioning is generally used to keep temperature in these server rooms kept optimal at all times, however to attempt a ‘greener’ approach there is talk of allowing the servers to run hot and using the thermal energy generated as a power source. A problem with this is that these server rooms would become a hostile environment, and humans would not be able to enter without environment suits on. An ideal lovation for such data centres would be somewhere with constant running water to keepy the buildings generally cool.

With the addition of these data centres the idea of multiple orginisations and users using shared rescources would become a reality and would save on many underused servers.This application is both better for the environment, quicker and more economical.

As we can see here there are almost no Capital expenditures of setting up multiple servers with could computing, as there would only be Operating expenditures

Supply Chain managment includes the planning and managment of all the activities that are involved in the sourcing of their raw materials to the managment of logistics including supply and demand, and it deals with suppliers and intermediaries. Overclockers.co.uk We can see here that the company can directly get feedback on push vs pull marketing from the customers, as they have a forum where members can freely discuss the pros and cons of a certain piece of hardware.
Also with regards to sourcing raw materials, the comany doesn’t need to worry about that for the software aspect of its sales, as they act as an intermediary between say Microsoft and the consumer. With regards to their hardware however these materials are extremely expensive and would generally require them to adhere to the pull side of the push vs pull supply model

Having read over the terms and conditions in relevent detail I would say without a doubt that they are completely reasonable and dont seem to hold any strange loop holes. The site states that each product will have a 12 month warranty that is only void if the product is tampered with.

The site states that it now adheres to WEEE which stands for The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive and is now UK law. the legislation was created to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

With regards to the returns policy; the customer has the right to cancel the order at any time up untill 7 days after the goods have been received, you must however give written notice to the supplier via letter, or via returns line section of the website.

Looking at the registration process of the website, it is obvious to me that the data is encrypted and that it is very safe to use from a security point of view.

Cookies are is a small piece of text stored on a user’s computer by a web browser; i.e forefox. It is the identifier for a server-based session or other data used by the website. In the case of overslockers.co.,uk it is used to recall information about the customer which is relevant to the user such as previous or relevant purchases and encrypted card information (The site does not require you to enter your card information more than once)

Overclockers is an e-commerce site that bases itself around selling computer parts, It sells parts individually and also does package deals and laptops, it seems to be geared towards performance improvement as its address suggests; overclocking is a method by which you can improve your computers performance beyond what its default settings will allow.

Currently 18.3 million households (70%) in the UK have access to the internet. This statistic has increased by 2 million since 2006 which also equates to 11% of uk households

The website www.statistics.gov.uk states that in 2006, there was 14.3 million households that had the Internet. This increased in 2007 to 15.23 million which is quite a substantial increase.  In 2008, 39.9 million people had access to the Internet. This is another increase of 1 mmilion users in one year

Looking at this information I can clearly see that there is a substantial, constant and consistent increase in the number of homes and indeed people who use the internet on a daily basis.
